New Work

Frederico Camara: In an Ideal World

Frederico Camara, In an Ideal World, 2009. Commissioned by Pavilion.

Brazilian artist Frederico Camara takes an ethnographic approach to photography. Extending his research into zoological environments he conducts a stark analysis of animal enclosures in zoos throughout the UK. His work opens up a set of environmental, sociological, ethical and cultural problems that are associated with captivity and, more broadly, our looking.

Tomoko Yoneda: Momentary: She and He

Tomoko Yoneda, Momentary: She and He

In her new work Yoneda focuses on human relationships in contemporary culture searching for the origins of togetherness in the contemporary world. Photographing young couples in iconic courting spots in Yoneda attempts to capture our latent yearning for attachment in places marked by the cultural imprint of love.
