March 07 - January 08

Pavilion commissioned four emerging UK-based photographers to each produce a body of work for exhibition as a group show. The photographers selected for the commission and exhibition opportunity were: Millie Burton, Lydia Goldblatt, Hetain Patel and Eva Stenram.

The work commissioned by each of the photographers was exhibited at Photofusion, London 23 November 2008 - 12 January 2008.

Home Improvements is a photographic series that documents exiled domestic objects found at recycling centres within the UK. Like Frankenstein's monster, the waste mountains that now exist are both frightening and pathetic creations of our own time.

Images from the series can be viewed on the Pavilion Online Gallery.

Two Special Edition Prints from the series are avaliable to purchase direct from the Pavilion website.

And The Word Was God explores the ages at which rites of passage rituals and ceremonies are performed, focusing on the moments from which children adopt forms of religious language, prayer and ritual. The work probes the encounter between the collective nature and identity of religious practice, and the individual who takes on these beliefs as way of life.

Images from the series can be viewed on the Pavilion Online Gallery.

Two Special Edition Prints from the series are avaliable to purchase direct from the Pavilion website.

Kori Patels explores how the culture and sensibilities of the Western world has impacted upon Patels family members, the legacy of an Indian mindset, cultural mannerisms and the way in which they reveal themselves.
