Intermix03: 6-12 October 2003 >>
Intermix is Pavilion’s annual programme of contemporary artists’ film and video. As part of Leeds International Film Festival Intermix03 showed a series of short graphic and animated films at Leeds City Art Gallery.

Still from: 'Object/Sound/Movement' by Carl Turton
The programme consisted of 3 separate screenings:
Manhattan Revisited
In response to popular demand, ‘Manhattan revisited’ offered those who missed the opportunity to see 2002’s smashingly successful moving image works by local final year students another chance to see them. The pieces selected for Intermix03 were ‘Manhattan’, ‘Heure de pointe’ and ‘Variations on Melody No 1’, all of them exploring everyday life in urban Leeds from a somewhat unexpected angle.
Codec/x - New British Video & Sound Art
Codec/x featured new experimental short films by sonic investigators, video artists and composers from the Manchester area. This compilation unpacked a playful list of proposals and explorations: tensions between perfection and instability; the minutiae of spaces and moments; the inscription and abandonment of laws; creation of light and time, the complexity of language and meaning, and the architecture in ‘intelligent’ machines.
